This device is TOO DANGEROUS TO HAVE IN THE KITCHEN! DO NOT BUY! The blade is razor sharp and is not only closely exposed to fingers during the normal cutting action but is even much more exposed to fingers when the cutting thickness plates are changed and when the unit is cleaned. And it is stored in a kitchen where anyone has access to it, including children.
I have a large collection of tools and have three items that have such ultra-sharp blades: razor blades, scalpel knives and a plastic pipe cutting pliers. However in normal use, by a reasonably skilled adult, these tools can be used safely and are always safely put away in a shop away from children when not in use. And they perform meaningful functions that demand such sharp tools.
Not so with this gadget, which performs a handy function but slicing vegetables can be easily be done with kitchen knives where the blades are not normally razor sharp and where the cutting action has the cutting edge moving away from the user and not towards his fingers.
Its nonessential function, coupled with unnecessary exposure to an ultra-sharp cutting edge by anyone in the house, adds up to my conclusion that it just not worth the safety risk to have it around the house. I sent mine back.

I bought this product after reading all of the glowing reviews. I was disappointed to find no way to do crinkle cuts. (I bought this to make deep fried crinkle cut pickles.) Pickles are impossible to use with the holder (if you want pickle quarters). The base is extremely uneasy to use. The slicer blade sits so close to the counter that it is impossible to get a dish underneath to catch your slices. I suppose I could use my cutting board underneath, but as far as that goes, I might as well just get out the knife and only have 2 things to clean up.
I would return this, but the shipping is estimated at almost 6 bucks. I only spent 20 on this item so I won’t waste 25+% on returning it. I haven’t tried to slice cheese on this yet, but if it does that well, I will come and add that to the review.
Overall, spend a little bit more money and get a better product.

the product doesn’t have a middle sized blade, so the slices are either too thick or too thin

I LOVE THIS THING! I normally don’t have these types of gadgets but i bought it because i’ve wanted to make homemade potato chips and slicing them by hand wouldn’t cut it. I actually just made them yesterday using this mandoline, it has a very thin slices attachment which worked perfectly for the chips. It has a few other attachments that i haven’t looked into yet but am looking forward to using. Its very easy to use and the slicing is very smooth! I highly recommend this.
