My review will be geared to those who definitely have owned previous Garmin devices, and perhaps have a few year old models. concerning had a Street Pilot c550 and also a 205W. I was never pleased with either the screen brightness or the amount on the Street Pilot. When I bought this 205W it was brand new and promised a extremely bright screen and loud directions – it had neither. Still, I applied it until about 2 months ago, when for no purpose it suddenly dumped all my saved destinations. Swell. I figured it was time for a brand-new unit, and I sought Lane Assist and Junction perspective. Was originally going to order another unit that includes the feature where it just might help you get back to ones parked car, but that unit isn’t gonna be available for an unknown time frame, so I settled to the 1450lmt. I didn’t care a great deal of about the traffic, nonetheless I definitely wanted lifetime maps. So – great Amazon service with offering, amazingly fast. Right out from the box, it picked up a signal in my apartment – wow. Downloaded an updated map and it also only took about 45 mins. total, no complications. Tried it out these days. Screen is beautifully shiny – I don’t really need it on 100%. this voice is LOUD as well as clear, and again, I don’t need it entire volume. Those two issues alone totally delighted me. It is ready to be able to navigate almost instantly next time i turn it on, including in my carport, where my previous model never got a signal. It has very specific and exhaustive small neighborhood POIs, which again satisfied me, as the 205W continue to showed places that had not existed for 5 a long time, and that was when it and the maps were new. The junction view/lane Cheap Auto Parts help is easily visible but will be invaluable in new areas. I haven’t actually noticed the traffic alerts available, but I have cruised this screens and checked this scans, and it seems as if it’ll be helpful. I know it can’t be perfect, but I’m sure it will likely be better than not having it in the least. I’ve also had enjoyable downloading different vehicles as well as voices. I just might be tempted to afford Spongebob (most of this voices are free). SO happy I didn’t chose the unit I was originally intending to order, and got this one instead with its great 5-inch screen. it is a vast improvement on my 3 year old previous model. Garmin’s really started getting hired right!
